And then you were 1
Reed turned 1 on Oct. 3. It’s kind of hard to believe, but there’s no turning back now. He has changed and grown so much in the past year.
Now:

Then

We had a great little birthday party with family and a few friends. All was well until we got a parting gift — 8 of the 12 were stricken with a nasty stomach virus! Here are some party photos:
Reed’s cake matched the party decorations and the “zoo” theme:

Reed and Tristan had a good time playing together:

Great-grandpa Reed and Reed have a special bond:

Cake time:

Reed really was not a fan of the cake and we had to force him to touch it. He didn’t want to eat any:

Ooohhh presents:
Thanks for the awesome cart, Aunt Carrie:
Lights out:

Rashy
I forgot to post this picture of Reed during his nasty virus that made him rashy. This was about a month ago. Poor thing still smiled!

Catch up!
I cannot believe I am more than a month past due to update the blog. So much for my moment-by-moment account of my dear firstborn’s life!
I’ll try to play catch up now. Reed is crawling like a maniac and pulling up on everything! He has begun cruising this week and can sidestep down our large ottoman pretty quickly.
He has 10 teeth — two of which are molars that are coming in now and bothering the heck out of him.
He is saying momma, dada, da (for dog) and lots of other sounds. He says momma repeatedly when he is upset.
He cackles and giggles and laughs like Bevis of Bevis and Butthead (huh-huh-huh-huh-huh).
He likes to blow raspberries on your arm. And laughs back when you laugh at him doing it.
He loves to eat Mum Mums, cheerios, chunky baby food and cheese. He also likes puffs and yogurt melts.
He smiles almost all the time, and it is easy to take him places. He loves to flirt with people and look at them.
He is still madly in love with Simone and she tolerates him ok, but runs away from him a lot when he chases after her.
Below are some pictures from our summer. We have done a lot!

Happy Father’s Day
Happy Father’s Day to the two best dads I know: my hubby and my daddy!
This is what Reed made for his “da-da.” I put it in a 3-paned picture frame.

Music gods
Reed is paying homage to two of my favorite musicians with these sweet onesies:
We got this Johnny Cash onesie last night downtown in a tourist shop after the Coldplay concert (which was epic, by the way). I have always wanted to use the word “epic” in a sentence. If Coldplay were selling onesies, I would have gotten him one of those too. Anyway, I think this is the coolest!

The Bob Marley onesie was picked up in Austin when Chris was there for a conference this spring. It was the best gift he could have gotten Reed in my opinion!

So stylish
Forgot to post this picture from the girls weekend. Reed was looking very handsome (and with a little attitude!)
