Baby talk
We have been trying to talk to the baby as much as we can. He definitely responds when we call his name — he’ll give us a good kick consistently each time we try to get his attention. It’s pretty cute. We are now starting to see his kicks and not just feel them, which is quite fascinating!
He also likes music. Chris has been playing songs on his computer a lot to start his musical education early. He is determined that the baby will know more about music than I did (or do, according to Chris).
Background: My parents only listened to country music when I was a kid, and we only listened to the radio or music while we were in the car. It was a long time before I knew there was more to the music world that Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, George Jones and the like. Chris thinks the 80s and early 90s were basically a black-out time for me music-wise. I can’ tell the difference between Guns and Roses, Poison, Def Leppard, Motely Crew and Bon Jovi. And he can’t believe I don’t like U2 or the Police (yes, we saw them in Amsterdam and that was pretty good, but it was only good because of the location.)
Anyway, back to the baby. We had another ultrasound today — I am 24 weeks along, and the baby looks so cute in his 4D picture, I wish I had something beside a print so I could post it. You can tell he’s really growing! Well, you can take one look at me and tell he’s really growing! But, if I hear ONE more “twins” comment or “you are do WHEN??” I am going to pitch the biggest fit you have ever seen!

I also have a blackout period in pop culture, due to my mennonite upbringing!
