Mind mush
You know you are slipping when you miscalculate something by oh, say, 4,500! Don’t ask me how I am going to hold it together at work until SEPTEMBER.
((((smacks myself in the forehead))))
oww, that hurt!
My bump, my lovely lady bump…
I kind of feel like Fergie in the Black Eyed Peas these days. Her song, “My Humps,” is running through my head with a slight tweak. Yeah, “my lovely lady bump” is getting in the way! Seriously, it is kind of strange when your profile is wider than you are when standing head on.
I can’t tell you how many times I have turned to the side to get by a tight space and rammed into something. This seems to happen to me every time I go to the bathroom at work, I just automatically slide my way into the stalls and end up knocking the crap out of my belly.
Last night, Chris was brushing his teeth when I tried to slide by in our narrow master bath. He got a good knock in the back…sorry, babe!
Anyway, I hope I will get used to this thing soon, I feel like I am smuggling a basketball!
What I’m wearing
Someone asked what I’ve been wearing so here is what I am wearing today. I rip off my clothes in favor of yoga pants and a t-shirt the minute I walk in the door, so that is why you don’t see me “modeling” my outfit. Besides, getting in front of the camera is hard, as is looking in the mirror these days!
Silk top on clearance from Mimi Maternity:
Most comfortable pants ever from Liz Lange for Target (I also have them in black and brown):
Calvin Klein patent leather peep-toe wedges:
So what do you think? Do I still have it?
Baby talk
We have been trying to talk to the baby as much as we can. He definitely responds when we call his name — he’ll give us a good kick consistently each time we try to get his attention. It’s pretty cute. We are now starting to see his kicks and not just feel them, which is quite fascinating!
He also likes music. Chris has been playing songs on his computer a lot to start his musical education early. He is determined that the baby will know more about music than I did (or do, according to Chris).
Background: My parents only listened to country music when I was a kid, and we only listened to the radio or music while we were in the car. It was a long time before I knew there was more to the music world that Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, George Jones and the like. Chris thinks the 80s and early 90s were basically a black-out time for me music-wise. I can’ tell the difference between Guns and Roses, Poison, Def Leppard, Motely Crew and Bon Jovi. And he can’t believe I don’t like U2 or the Police (yes, we saw them in Amsterdam and that was pretty good, but it was only good because of the location.)
Anyway, back to the baby. We had another ultrasound today — I am 24 weeks along, and the baby looks so cute in his 4D picture, I wish I had something beside a print so I could post it. You can tell he’s really growing! Well, you can take one look at me and tell he’s really growing! But, if I hear ONE more “twins” comment or “you are do WHEN??” I am going to pitch the biggest fit you have ever seen!
Success!
Whoo! Whoo! The nursery is almost done — just need to paint and frame and hang the prints. I’ll post pictures when we get totally done next weekend!
