One more week
Today is my last week of maternity leave. I cannot believe how quickly three months has passed. I’ve settled into a really comfortable routine with Reed and have enjoyed every second of our days together. I look forward to returning to my great job and awesome colleagues, but I am a little heartbroken about giving up my days with Reed. It will be difficult to let someone else have that time with him! He is growing so fast and changing so much each day. I just hope he saves his milestones for me!
A few milestones we’ve reached:
He has been sleeping through the night in his crib since Dec. 7. He has only woken up one night, sleeping less than at least 6 hours.
Twice he has woken up after sleeping all night with his head where he feet were/vice versa.
He has been turning onto his side since he was 7 weeks old.
He began having full babble conversations with himself and us about 2 weeks ago.
He began saying “hi” a few times a day since mid-December.
He started to laugh around 7 weeks.
He began studying his hands last week, although he has brought his hands to his face since about 4 weeks and has grasped his hands together since birth.

let me know if you need any “new mommy support” when you return to work. I meet for lunch on the first tuesday of each month with two gals with kids in jack henry’s class. One of them just had her second baby and is just back from maternity leave. We’d be glad to lend words of encouragement if you would like to come. Let me know - hang in there. Sounds like your boy is well ahead of the curve!!
